CAREERS PROGRAMME

Our focus is to develop skills and attitudes that enable our learners to become independent adults and prepare them for their destinations and careers beyond Oastlers.

We aim for learners to have an enriched and stimulating curriculum to give them every opportunity to reach their full potential regardless of their gender, race, learning disability or physical disability.

Careers education, information, advice and guidance

Oastlers are committed to ensuring learners’ leave with the confidence, belief and values to help prepare them for adulthood. We work with and support learners to build their future options, realise their potential and decide how their skills and experiences fit with opportunities in the job market.

We prepare learners for their preferred transitional pathway whether that is to continue with further education, employment, training or living independently using a person-centred approach to delivery targeted outcomes.

Oastlers careers service is designed for learners from Year 7 onwards, highlighting vocational and academic routes for their journey into adulthood. Oastlers careers programme is known as;

Each learner has an Education, Health and Care plan which is linked to the external careers guidance provided by Bradford Prospects.

We underpin our strategy with the Gatsby Benchmark and the support of our Enterprise Coordinator and other key stakeholders.

Do you work in a business that could help provide work experience or opportunities for our learners?

We are always looking for local businesses that are wanting to inspire and educate our learners about the world of work. If you think you could help to provide invaluable work experience or opportunities that give learners the chance to develop core skills and motivation, in the first instance, please contact Robert Fairbairn, robert.fairbairn@oastlers.co.uk
